The meeting, held in Westminster, brought together ICS.AI CEO Martin Neale and Chief Local Government Officer Dwayne Johnson, who outlined how ICS.AI is driving AI-powered efficiency across local and central government, education, and healthcare.

Murphy recognises Basingstoke’s strong foundation in AI, technology, and life sciences, sectors he believes deserve greater recognition on the national stage. The discussion focused on attracting talent and investment to the region while exploring how local government can harness AI to enhance efficiency and improve resident engagement.

Basingstoke-based ICS.AI works with leading institutions including Derby City Council, Hillingdon Council, King’s College London, and the Information Commissioner’s Office. Managing millions of AI transactions per year, ICS.AI has helped to deliver £5.9M financial impact for Coleg Y Cymoedd, and has been an integral part of Derby City Council’s AI transformation, which is targeted to deliver £12 million in savings over three years.

Luke Murphy MP commented: “Basingstoke has the talent, ambition, and infrastructure to become a leading hub for AI and innovation. By leveraging our existing industries and highly skilled workforce – and with exciting opportunities like a STEM campus from the University of Southampton – we can position Basingstoke at the forefront of the UK’s technological future. Driving growth, creating jobs, and strengthening our role in the national industrial strategy is a key mission. As a locally based business powering public sector AI transformation nationwide, ICS.AI is perfectly placed to drive this mission forwards.”

Martin Neale, CEO of ICS.AI, added: “The UK’s public sector is at a pivotal moment. Demand is skyrocketing while resources shrink. To combat this, ICS.AI is driving AI transformation where it matters most. We’re leading the way in enabling the public sector to re-think how they deliver services nationwide, and are committed to making an impact in our headquartered region of Basingstoke and beyond. We look forward to working with Luke Murphy to deliver this vision.”

Looking ahead, Murphy aims to build momentum by hosting roundtable discussions, bringing together key stakeholders across the Basingstoke region – and nationally – to explore and elevate the AI agenda. The events will provide a platform for AI and tech businesses to collaborate, showcase their innovations, and help shape the future of AI-driven growth in the region.
