"Throughout my career in local government, I've never seen a more promising solution to the systemic challenges we face than AI. Working with ICS.AI over the past year opened my eyes to the transformative potential of this technology. We're not just talking about incremental improvements – we're looking at fundamental changes in how councils can deliver services more efficiently, reduce costs, and better serve their communities despite funding constraints. The technology exists today to help councils do more with less, and I'm excited to help authorities across the UK harness this potential."

In his new position, Johnson will:

  • Guide councils in implementing AI solutions that address critical funding and staffing challenges

  • Develop strategic frameworks for AI adoption that align with local authority needs and capabilities

  • Lead initiatives to transform social care delivery through AI-enabled solutions

  • Foster collaboration between technology experts and public sector leaders
